چکیده
Background: Cerebrovascular reactivity has been identified as an important contributor to secondary injury following moderate severe traumatic brain (TBI). “Gold-standard” intracranial pressure (ICP) based indies of cerebrovascular are limited by their invasive nature poor spatial resolution. Near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) indices minimally and have improved In this study, classical machine-learning algorithms leveraged better characterize the relationship between these indices. Methods: High-resolution physiologic data was collected in a cohort adult TBI patients. From both ICP NIRS were derived. Utilizing Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering (AHC) Principal Component Analysis, higher dimensional space examined. Results: A total 83 patients with 314,395 minutes unique complete obtained. Through AHC PCA there order clustering indices, separate from other parameters. Conclusions: relate one another space. may be viable alternative

Cerebrovascular Pressure Reactivity in Children with TBI
Investigators from University of Melbourne, Australia, studied Pressure-Reactivity Index (PRx) and optimal Cerebral Perfusion Pressure (CPP) in 36 children aged between 6 months and 16 years treated for traumatic brain injury (TBI) at the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne, from 2007 to 2013.
متن کاملCerebrovascular reactivity measured by near-infrared spectroscopy.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The pressure reactivity index (PRx) describes cerebral vessel reactivity by correlation of slow waves of intracranial pressure (ICP) and arterial blood pressure. In theory, slow changes in the relative total hemoglobin (rTHb) measured by near-infrared spectroscopy are caused by the same blood volume changes that cause slow waves of ICP. Our objective was to develop a new ...
متن کاملComparison of Model-Based Indices of Cerebral Autoregulation and Vasomotor Reactivity Using Transcranial Doppler versus Near-Infrared Spectroscopy in Patients with Amnestic Mild Cognitive Impairment
We recently introduced model-based "physiomarkers" of dynamic cerebral autoregulation and CO2 vasomotor reactivity as an aid for diagnosis of early-stage Alzheimer's disease (AD) [1], where significant impairment of dynamic vasomotor reactivity (DVR) was observed in early-stage AD patients relative to age-matched controls. Milder impairment of DVR was shown in patients with amnestic mild cognit...
متن کاملInvestigating atmospheric instability indices coinciding with hails of moderate to severe size diameters: case study: Synoptic station in Bandar Abbas
Hail phenomenon is one of the hazardous weather phenomena that can make the highest amount of damage to farms, gardens, cars, rooftops, etc. in a very short time (a few minutes), depending on the diameter of the particles. One of the best ways to study this devastating climatic phenomenon is the use of atmospheric instability indices. The indices which are calculated with the help of radiosonde...
متن کاملIntracranial Pressure Monitoring: Relationship between Indices of Cerebrovascular Reserve, System Bandwidth, and Cerebral Perfusion
Loss of cerebrovascular reserve with the resultant increase of cerebral perfusion, and disruption of capillary fluid balance generally leads to the development of cerebral edema, a serious secondary complication of traumatic brain injury. Two indices of cerebrovascular reserve derived from recordings of intracranial pressure (ICP) and arterial blood pressure (ABP) have been proposed [1-3]. The ...
